Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and efficient Public Safety Telecommunicator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for receiving emergency calls and dispatching the appropriate resources to handle each situation efficiently. Your expertise will be crucial in providing guidance and support to callers while ensuring a timely response from emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process emergency calls efficiently and calmly.
• Evaluate the urgency of each call and prioritise responses appropriately.
• Maintain communication with emergency responders to monitor progress.
• Prepare detailed reports on emergency response activities.
• Educate callers on safety procedures and provide reassurance during emergencies.
• Utilize radio and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems effectively.
• Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency services for effective coordination.
• Attend debriefing sessions post-incident to analyse performance.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and operational guidelines.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is an advantage

Experience

• Preferred experience in emergency service dispatching.
