Structural Iron and Steel Worker

Job Description

We are looking for experienced Structural Iron and Steel Workers to join our team in London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in assembling, installing, and repairing structural framework for buildings and other structures, ensuring all work meets safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Cut, bend, and shape steel according to project requirements.
• Install metal decking and safety rails as necessary.
• Ensure all equipment and tools are in safe working condition.
• Support senior staff in complex installations and repairs.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot issues related to steel structures.
• Report any hazards or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately.
• Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and challenges.
• Work effectively under tight deadlines and changing priorities.

Requirements

Education

• NVQ Level 2 in Steel Erecting or equivalent

Experience

• 3 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Health and Safety compliance
• Heavy lifting techniques

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication

Certifications

• CSCS Card
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Forklift certification: Certified to operate forklifts and similar machinery safely.
• Experience in high-rise building construction: Experience working on high-rise projects is a plus.
