Job Description

As a Shipyard Painting Supervisor, you will oversee and coordinate all painting activities in our bustling shipyard. You'll ensure that painting jobs meet both industry standards and client specifications, leading a skilled team to deliver exceptional results.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all painting operations within the shipyard, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Plan and execute painting schedules and resource allocation.
  • Inspect and prepare surfaces, applying the appropriate painting methods and materials.
  • Lead, train, and mentor new and existing staff in painting techniques.
  • Manage paint inventory and ordering supplies as necessary.
  • Document project activities and maintain records of materials used.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support project needs and timelines.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Resolve any conflicts or issues that arise during projects efficiently.
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures for painting tasks.

Requirements

Education
  • Vocational training in painting or related fields
  • Additional qualifications in management are advantageous
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years supervising painting projects in a shipyard or construction setting.
