Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Certified Abuse and Drug Addiction Counselor to join our expanding team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will provide essential support and counselling to individuals battling substance abuse issues, helping them cultivate coping strategies and prevent relapse.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and document clients' addiction challenges using evidence-based assessments.
  • Craft tailored treatment approaches that encompass the client's personal circumstances.
  • Facilitate therapeutic group sessions, promoting shared learning and support.
  • Utilise active listening techniques to build rapport with clients.
  • Stay current with trends and advancements in addiction treatment.
  • Network with local support agencies to enhance client resources.
  • Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment when required.
  • Support clients in their journey by tailoring coping strategies to individual needs.
  • Refine therapeutic skills through regular training and workshops.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or a related field.
  • Certification in Abuse and Drug Addiction Counseling.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in addiction counseling or a related field.
