Job Description

As a Veterinary Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our veterinary team through a variety of laboratory tasks. Your responsibilities will include processing samples, performing diagnostic tests, and ensuring that all laboratory procedures comply with relevant regulations. We are seeking a motivated individual with a passion for animal health and laboratory work.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct laboratory analyses on various specimens.
  • Collaborate with veterinarians to discuss test results and implications.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills.
  • Help implement new laboratory procedures.
  • Perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment.
  • Prepare materials for laboratory tests according to protocols.
  • Maintain accurate and organized laboratory records.
  • Engage in continuing education to stay current in the field.
  • Assist in research projects as requested.

Requirements

Education
  • A-levels or equivalent in Science subjects
  • A qualification in Veterinary Science or Animal Care is an advantage
Experience
  • Previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a veterinary or healthcare environment.
