Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our Birmingham team. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in managing costs and contracts in the engineering sector, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget. You will play a pivotal role in cost planning and control, measurement, and procurement.

Responsibilities

• Estimate costs and prepare detailed project plans.
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of invoices.
• Manage the financial aspects of contracts and monitor performance.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and validate costs.
• Facilitate workshops to enhance collaboration between teams.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Prepare monthly reports for stakeholders on project financials.
• Facilitate the resolution of disputes regarding costs and contracts.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Quantity Surveying is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or cost management

Languages

Advantageous

• Familiarity with JCT contracts: Knowledge of Joint Contracts Tribunal (JCT) contract forms.
• Experience in Public Sector Projects: Previous experience working on public sector construction projects.
