Yard Crane Operator

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Yard Crane Operator to join our team. As a Yard Crane Operator, you will be responsible for efficiently and safely operating cranes to load and unload cargo, materials, and equipment from vessels, trucks, and other transportation modes. The ideal candidate must demonstrate technical expertise and a strong commitment to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate cranes to manage cargo movement effectively.
• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections on cranes and related equipment.
• Support the logistics team in achieving daily operational targets.
• Participate in safety training sessions and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure timely loading and unloading processes.
• Document all crane operation activities accurately.
• Provide assistance in loading and unloading when necessary to prevent delays.
• Adhere to all lifting and rigging protocols to avoid accidents.
• Mentor junior operators and assist with skill development.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Crane Operator certification
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a recognised crane operation training program is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years of experience operating yard cranes in heavy-duty environments
