Bioinformatics Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Bioinformatics Technician to support our research efforts in the field of genomics and molecular biology. You will play a vital role in performing computational analyses of high-throughput genomic data and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Collect, process and analyse large-scale genomics and transcriptomics datasets.
• Implement data analysis pipelines and perform quality control on data.
• Work collaboratively with biologists and data scientists to interpret results.
• Present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development of new analytical tools and methodologies.
• Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and research applications.
• Provide technical support for laboratory staff as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in genomics or bioinformatics

• Statistical Analysis

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with statistical analysis tools: Experience with tools like SPSS or SAS.
• PhD in Bioinformatics or related field: A PhD would be advantageous for more complex analyses.
