Job Description

The Chemical Coordinator will be responsible for the effective and safe handling and storage of chemicals. This role involves ensuring that all operations comply with regulations and implementing safety protocols to protect staff and the environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant chemical regulations and legislation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of chemical inventory.
  • Provide training and support to staff on best chemical safety practices.
  • Conduct regular audits of chemical storage and handling facilities.
  • Manage the risk assessment processes for chemical handling.
  • Coordinate with health and safety officials to maintain workplace standards.
  • Implement measures to reduce environmental impacts from chemical usage.
  • Collaborate with the research and development teams for new chemical products.
  • Prepare reports for management on chemical safety and compliance.
  • Work with external auditors for chemical safety assessments.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
  • Chemical handling and safety certifications
Experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in chemical handling and storage
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of chemical storage and handling regulations
  • Ability to use chemical handling equipment and tools
Soft Skills
  • Strong attention to detail

  • Problem-solving skills
Certifications
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • IOSH Managing Safely
Languages
