Industrial Safety Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Safety Engineer to enhance our dynamic team in Edinburgh. This role involves developing and implementing safety practices and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations to foster a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Implement safety initiatives and strategies to minimise hazards.
• Assist in the preparation of emergency response plans.
• Work closely with engineering teams to evaluate safety concerns in design.
• Ensure that all safety equipment and resources are properly maintained.
• Advise on personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
• Develop and maintain safety-related records and documentation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Occupational Health
• Postgraduate qualification in Safety Management is desirable

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in industrial safety

• Health and Safety Legislation
• Safety Audits

Certifications

• Chartered Safety Practitioner
• First Aid at Work

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Familiarity with CDM regulations: Experience in working with Construction (Design and Management) regulations.
• Training in Emergency Response: Training or experience in emergency response planning and implementation.
