Job Description

We are looking for a Youth Corrections Officer who is passionate about working with young individuals in a correctional setting. Your responsibilities will include supervising offenders, developing treatment plans, and promoting a positive environment conducive to rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily activities and routines of young offenders.
  • Monitor compliance with facility regulations and procedures.
  • Develop and facilitate recreational and educational activities.
  • Support youth in crisis situations, providing de-escalation strategies.
  • Engage in team meetings to discuss and assess individual youth progress.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and programs aimed at rehabilitation.
  • Ensure a safe living environment by addressing any potential hazards.
  • Facilitate workshops aimed at skill development and personal growth.
  • Coordinate with external agencies as necessary for youth support.
  • Promote a culture of respect and responsibility among residents.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is preferred.
  • Relevant certification in youth work or corrections is advantageous.
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in youth services or similar fields.

  • Understanding of youth development principles
