Job Description

The Acute Physical Therapist will play a crucial role in providing and managing comprehensive physical therapy services for patients recovering in acute care hospital settings. This role involves working closely with patients who have recently undergone surgery or are recovering from traumatic injuries or acute medical conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments to identify patients' rehabilitation needs.
  • Create and supervise rehabilitation programs tailored to individual patient goals.
  • Monitor patients' progress and modify therapeutic interventions accordingly.
  • Facilitate patient education regarding self-management strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Engage in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Guide and mentor junior staff and rehabilitation aides.
  • Assist in the clinical training of Physical Therapy students.
  • Implement evidence-based practices in rehabilitation care.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy
  • HCPC registration is mandatory
Experience
  • Experience in acute rehabilitation is preferred
Technical Skills
  • Ability to work with specialized therapy equipment
  • Competence in developing treatment plans
Soft Skills

Certifications
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent
