Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to join our team in York. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of health and safety regulations, and experience in enforcing compliance in the environmental engineering sector. This role is crucial in ensuring our projects are conducted safely and meet all required standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of safety initiatives and programs.
• Ensure the availability of safety equipment and first aid supplies.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards.
• Facilitate safety meetings and encourage employee participation.
• Collaborate with health and safety representatives on strategic initiatives.
• Review and update safety documentation regularly.
• Engage with employees to promote health and well-being initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field
• Postgraduate qualification in Health and Safety Management is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years within a health and safety setting, ideally in environmental engineering

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
