Job Description

Join our team as a Telescope Operator, where you will play a critical role in conducting astronomical observations and advancing our research projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with telescope operation and a keen interest in astronomy.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular maintenance and updates on telescope systems.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of observational strategies.
  • Evaluate and interpret astronomical data with precision.
  • Work under varying weather conditions to ensure timely observations.
  • Train and assist junior staff in telescope operation and data analysis.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to safety guidelines.
  • Support public outreach initiatives by presenting findings.
  • Collaborate with academic institutions on joint research projects.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's in a relevant science field
  • Postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
Experience
  • 2+ years in telescope operation or astronomical research
