As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering tailored instructional strategies and interventions to meet the diverse needs of students with disabilities. You will collaborate with colleagues, parents, and professionals to ensure a supportive educational experience.

Responsibilities

  • Creating and implementing tailored education plans that meet each student's unique needs.
  • Utilising technology and resources that enhance learning for students with disabilities.
  • Engaging with families to keep them informed and involved in their children's educational progress.
  • Adjusting curricula and instructional approaches based on individual assessments.
  • Participating in multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss student needs and potential improvements.
  • Fostering an inclusive classroom environment that values diversity and promotes equity.
  • Regularly reviewing student progress and providing feedback to stakeholders.
  • Utilising behaviour management strategies to support students in achieving their goals.
  • Building strong relationships with students to support their emotional well-being.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Further qualifications or training in special education
Experience
  • Previous teaching experience in a special education setting
