Machine Repair Mechanic

Job Description

As a Machine Repair Mechanic, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery used in manufacturing processes. You will conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely, thereby minimizing operational downtime.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose and repair a variety of industrial machinery.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance.
• Interpret technical manuals and blueprints to troubleshoot.
• Collaborate with other team members for process improvements.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding repairs and progress.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Document maintenance activities accurately.
• Assist in the installation of new machinery when required.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in machine repair or equivalent experience

Experience

• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred

Technical Skills

• PLC programming
• Robotics experience

Soft Skills

• Effective communication
• Critical thinking

Advantageous

• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems: Specialist knowledge in maintaining hydraulic and pneumatic machinery.
• Experience with maintenance logs: Ability to create and analyse maintenance logs for efficiency.
