Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our Brighton office. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of design principles and be experienced in managing projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with architects and other engineering professionals to ensure structural integrity and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects from conception to completion.
• Evaluate and refine engineering designs based on feedback.
• Document all phases of project development and delivery.
• Support project management with detailed engineering input.
• Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals.
• Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies.
• Contribute to the development of engineering standards and procedures.
• Build collaboration with external consultants and contractors.
• Facilitate team meetings to review project goals and progress.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
• Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years in structural design and project management

Technical Skills

• Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Project Management Software

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• Project Management Professional (PMP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with seismic design: Knowledge of designing structures to withstand seismic loads.
• Proficiency in BIM software: Experience with Building Information Modelling tools and methods.
