Scrap Carrier

Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Scrap Carrier to transport scrap materials from collection points to recycling facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the capability to work within a team environment. Ensuring compliance with safety protocols is paramount.

Responsibilities

• Collect and transport scrap metal and other recyclable materials from various locations.
• Ensure proper loading of materials onto the vehicle to prevent damages.
• Maintain accurate records of goods collected and delivered.
• Adhere to company safety protocols while operating the vehicle.
• Communicate with dispatch regarding transport routes and schedules.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks before and after trips.
• Assist in training new team members in safe transport practices.
• Maintain good relationships with our clients and stakeholders.
• Participate in safety training sessions and team meetings.
• Follow environmental guidelines for waste handling and disposal.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Experience in the recycling industry is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Forklift Operation

Soft Skills

• Dependability
• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Forklift Operating License (preferable)
• ADR Certification (for hazardous materials handling)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Hazardous Materials Handling Certification: Certification for transporting hazardous materials safely.
• Experience in Supervising or Training Others: Experience in leading teams or training new staff members.
