Job Description

We are seeking skilled Excavating and Loading Machine Operators for our surface mining operations. Ideal candidates will have prior experience operating heavy machinery and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate various types of heavy machinery, ensuring adherence to all safety protocols.
• Perform earthmoving tasks and execute project specifications accurately.
• Conduct regular maintenance checks and report issues to the maintenance team.
• Work collaboratively with site teams to optimise workflow and efficiency.
• Maintain documentation of works performed and hours worked on machinery.
• Identify and address safety hazards, ensuring a safe working environment.
• Ensure all machinery is kept in good working order, reporting issues as needed.
• Assist in training staff on the operation of equipment when required.
• Comply with all relevant environmental and health regulations.
• Contribute to a positive team environment through effective communication.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in heavy machinery operation preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in surface mining operations.

Technical Skills

• Heavy Machinery Repair Skills
• GPS and Surveying Tools

Soft Skills

• Communication
• Attention to Detail

Certifications

• CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) card
• NPTC Certificate in Safe Use of Pesticides (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Understanding of Environmental Regulations: Knowledge of eco-friendly procedures and regulations in construction and mining.
• First Aid Certification: Having a valid first aid certification to manage on-site emergencies.
