Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Insurance Underwriter to join our team in Cardiff. The successful candidate will evaluate insurance applications and assess risks to make informed decisions on policy issuance. This role requires strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and sales teams.

Responsibilities

• Analyze risk data and assess insurance applications.
• Determine appropriate levels of risk and recommend coverage limits.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients to understand risk exposure.
• Ensure all underwriting processes adhere to regulatory standards.
• Review and update underwriting manuals and guidelines as required.
• Work closely with actuaries to align underwriting decisions with company objectives.
• Train and mentor junior staff on underwriting processes and standards.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Professional underwriting qualifications preferred.

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in underwriting or related field

• Insurance Knowledge

• Teamwork

Certifications

• Certifications in Risk Management or Insurance
• CIA Certification is a plus

Languages

• English: Fluent
