Job Description

As an Upholstery Technician, you'll take on responsibilities such as repairing and restoring furniture upholstery, along with creating new pieces. Attention to detail and a solid understanding of materials and techniques are essential for this role. You'll collaborate closely with clients to fulfill their specific needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform upholstery repairs, replacements, and modifications on various types of furniture.
  • Measure, cut, and sew fabric or leather materials to fit furniture pieces.
  • Reupholster furniture frames, ensuring proper padding and support.
  • Inspect furniture for defects, identify necessary repairs, and provide cost estimates to clients.
  • Work with a variety of upholstery tools, including scissors, staple guns, and sewing machines.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their specific customization requirements.
  • Advise clients on fabric selection, color coordination, and overall design aesthetics.
  • Ensure the use of appropriate upholstery techniques and materials for different furniture styles.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Keep up to date with the latest upholstery trends, techniques, and materials.

Requirements

Education
  • No formal qualifications required, certification preferred.
Experience
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant upholstery experience is preferred.
