Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Environmental Health Officer to join our team in Newton Abbot. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and promoting sustainability initiatives. Key responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing policies, and collaborating with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and report on the effectiveness of existing environmental policies.
• Conduct training for staff and stakeholders on environmental health practices.
• Work with community organizations to promote environmental awareness.
• Collect and analyze data related to environmental health outcomes.
• Prepare and present findings to management and external agencies.
• Support emergency response initiatives related to environmental hazards.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental legislation and best practices.
• Advise on risk assessment and management strategies.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or relevant discipline
• Additional qualifications in public health are an advantage.

Experience

• 3+ years in an environmental health role or similar

• IEMA Certified Environmental Auditor

Languages
