Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Geoscientist to join our research team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will engage in various geological studies, focusing on data analysis and interpretation to support environmental projects and resource management.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive geological assessments on various projects.
• Utilise geophysical and geochemical methods for data collection.
• Work with environmental scientists to evaluate potential impacts of projects.
• Lead fieldwork efforts and manage laboratory analyses.
• Mentor junior geoscientists and interns in project methodologies.
• Report on geological findings and develop recommendations for stakeholders.
• Participate in community outreach to promote environmental awareness.
• Assist in the development and implementation of sustainable practices.
• Conduct risk assessments related to geological hazards.
• Engage with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with environmental legislation.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's in Environmental Science or related discipline
• Master's in Geosciences or related field is an advantage

Experience

• 5+ years of practical experience in the geosciences domain

• Geostatistical Analysis

Certifications

Languages

• English: Fluent
