Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Metallurgical Laboratory Assistant to support our laboratory team in analyzing and testing various metal samples. The successful candidate will conduct metallurgical tests, prepare samples for analysis, and interpret data while adhering to quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform metallurgical tests on various materials, documenting the results.
• Utilise scientific equipment correctly and ensure it is maintained.
• Assist with the preparation of technical reports and presentations.
• Collaborate with team members on diverse projects.
• Conduct thorough analyses and maintain accurate records of findings.
• Participate in continuous training and development opportunities.
• Support efforts to maintain certifications and accreditations.
• Adhere strictly to safety protocols and guidelines.
• Mentor junior laboratory staff as needed.

Requirements

Education

• Higher degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, or related field preferred

Experience

• 2+ years of experience in a laboratory environment

Technical Skills

• Image Analysis Software
• Optical and Electron Microscopy

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Optical Microscopy: Experience in using optical microscopes for metallurgical analysis.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS): Knowledge of LIMS for managing lab data effectively.
