Certified Music Therapist

Job Description

We are seeking a Certified Music Therapist to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for conducting music therapy sessions and utilising music interventions to help clients achieve their therapeutic goals. This rewarding role requires working closely with individuals of all ages who face various challenges.

Responsibilities

• Conduct evaluations to determine clients' music therapy needs.
• Develop and implement music therapy treatment plans tailored to each client.
• Facilitate music therapy sessions that engage clients and encourage emotional expression.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide integrated care.
• Document therapy sessions and client responses accurately.
• Provide training to interns and new staff on music therapy practices.

Requirements

Education

• Certification in Music Therapy from a recognised institution
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a certified music therapist.

Certifications

• Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Membership with the British Association for Music Therapy (BAMT) is preferred.

• Specialized techniques such as Guided Imagery and Music (GIM): Experience with specialized methods like GIM or Neurologic Music Therapy (NMT) would be a plus.
