Drayage Truck Driver

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Drayage Truck Driver to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods and materials between ports, warehouses, and distribution centres. A valid driver's license and a proven track record in safe driving are essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections to ensure safety.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent shifting during transportation.
• Assist with loading and unloading tasks as needed.
• Report any mechanical failures or issues with the vehicle immediately.
• Provide updates to dispatch on delivery status.
• Follow safety protocols to prevent accidents.
• Maintain records of fuel consumption and mileage.
• Work collaboratively with other drivers and warehouse staff.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• At least 3 years of relevant driving experience, preferably in drayage trucking.

Technical Skills

• Local road knowledge
• Vehicle maintenance

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Teamwork

Certifications

• HAZMAT endorsement (if applicable)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Additional driving certifications: Holding additional endorsements like Hazmat or Double-triple trailer is a plus.
