Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Actuarial Analyst to join our team in Edinburgh. The successful candidate will analyse data related to risk, pricing, and insurance policies, providing insights that influence strategic decisions. You will work closely with underwriters and other actuaries to assess potential risks and develop pricing models that reflect current market trends.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate loss data and provide quantitative analysis for reserves.
  • Contribute to annual business planning by providing accurate forecasts of insurance results.
  • Work with external auditors on actuarial aspects of the financial statements.
  • Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline
  • Advanced actuarial qualifications are a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of practical experience in actuarial consulting or insurance
Technical Skills
  • SQL
  • Data Visualisation Tools (Tableau, Power BI)

Certifications
  • Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (FIA)
