Machine Repair Technician

Job Description

As an Antique Furniture Repairer, you will be responsible for repairing, restoring, and renewing antique furniture to its original condition. You will work on various pieces such as chairs, tables, and cabinets, demanding expert craftsmanship and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults accurately and promptly.
• Attend to breakdowns efficiently to maintain production schedules.
• Install and commission new machinery and equipment.
• Assist in the design and implementation of preventive maintenance programs.
• Complete relevant documentation for all maintenance activities.
• Lead or assist in team projects aimed at enhancing operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies regarding maintenance-related activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• HNC/HND in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in machinery maintenance and repair, particularly with PLC programming

Technical Skills

• PLC programming knowledge
• Robotics maintenance experience

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Adaptability

Certifications

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance
• IOSH Managing Safely

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Welding and fabrication experience: Experience in welding and metal fabrication techniques.
• Robotics programming skills: Basic knowledge and experience in programming robotic systems.
