Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Speech-Language Pathologist to join our special education team. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and provide therapy to students struggling with speech and language disorders, ensuring they receive the support needed to thrive academically and socially.

Responsibilities

• Administer assessments to determine students' needs for speech and language support.
• Facilitate both direct and indirect therapy services for students with communication challenges.
• Collaborate with families to establish rapport and promote effective communication strategies at home.
• Design and implement classroom activities that foster speech and language development.
• Keep up to date with speech therapy best practices and educational methodologies.
• Prepare and present reports on student progress to relevant stakeholders.
• Assist in developing training resources for teaching staff on supporting students with speech difficulties.
• Utilise technology effectively to enhance therapy sessions and communication.

Requirements

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a school or educational setting
