Job Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality tours, highlighting Barnsley's unique cultural and historical aspects.
  • Monitor group dynamics, adapting the tour to meet the needs of guests.
  • Train and mentor new tour guides when required.
  • Assist in organizing special events or themed tours for tourists.
  • Provide input for the improvement of tour routes and guest services.
  • Network with other tourism professionals to stay updated on industry standards.
  • Document and report any incidents or issues during tours to management.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Degree in Tourism, History, or related field preferred
  • Excellent communication skills Ability to engage and inform diverse groups of people.
  • Knowledge of local history and attractions Deep understanding of Barnsley's history and culture.
  • Strong interpersonal skills Ability to foster a friendly and welcoming environment.
  • Adaptability Ability to adjust tours based on guest interests and dynamics.
  • English (Fluent)
