Job Description

As a Brakeman, you will ensure the safe and efficient operation of trains. Your responsibilities will include controlling speed, monitoring movements, and collaborating closely with other train crew members to uphold safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate handbrakes and control braking systems for safe train operation.
• Communicate with other train crew using radios and gestures.
• Conduct routine inspections of train equipment for safety compliance.
• Report any mechanical issues to maintenance teams immediately.
• Assist passengers and ensure their comfort during the journey.
• Provide emergency assistance in crisis situations.
• Maintain a record of all operations and relevant logs.
• Participate in ongoing training for safety and operational efficiency.
• Follow company procedures for accident prevention and emergency response.
• Work collaboratively with the team to maintain high safety standards.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Train Driver's Licence
• Personal Track Safety (PTS) Certificate
• Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Rail Transport Operations (Rail Services) - Train Driving

Experience

• No previous experience required, training provided.
