Transportation Inspector

Job Description

As a Transportation Inspector, you will ensure that cargo being transported meets all safety and quality standards. Your duties will include inspecting cargo for quantity, weight, packaging, labeling, and any potential hazards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect cargo for quantity, weight, and packaging integrity
• Utilize electronic inspection tools to assess compliance
• Collaborate with logistics teams to streamline operations
• Monitor transport processes to enhance safety practices
• Conduct follow-up inspections to ensure issues are resolved
• Provide training to junior inspectors on safety protocols
• Develop and implement inspection procedures to improve efficiency

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional certifications in cargo inspection are a plus

Experience

• Minimum of 1-2 years' experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• Electronic inspection tools
• Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

• Ability to work well in a team
• Good time management skills

Advantageous

• Experience with electronic tracking and tracing of cargo: Knowledge of tracking systems and processes used in logistics.
• Certification in hazardous materials handling: Relevant certifications that demonstrate expertise in handling dangerous goods.
