Pony Worker

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pony Worker to join our team. As a Pony Worker, you will be responsible for various tasks related to the care and maintenance of ponies. This role requires a strong passion for animals, excellent horsemanship skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily care routines including feeding, grooming, and exercising ponies.
• Monitoring the health and behaviour of ponies, reporting any concerns to team leaders.
• Maintaining stable cleanliness and organisation, ensuring a safe environment.
• Engaging with visitors during pony handling sessions to promote awareness and care.
• Implementing training techniques to encourage positive behaviours in young ponies.

Requirements

Education

• Level 2 Equine Care qualification
• Further equine qualifications are a plus.

Experience

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience with ponies or horses.

Technical Skills

• Equine First Aid
• Behaviour Training

Soft Skills

• Observation
• Physical Stamina

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Equestrian Events: Assist with equestrian events and competitions would be beneficial.
• Knowledge of Horse Nutrition: Understanding of equine nutrition and diet management.
