Job Description

We're looking for a Ship Fitter with a passion for maritime engineering to work with our talented team. You'll be instrumental in the installation and maintenance of essential ship structures and components.

Responsibilities

• Cut and shape metal to precise specifications.
• Fit, install, and repair various ship components.
• Work with a team to align and secure structural elements.
• Perform thorough inspections and safety checks.
• Utilise welding techniques appropriately.
• Maintain records of all fitting activities.
• Ensure compliance with maritime safety standards.
• Assist in the training of apprentice fitters.
• Manage tools and equipment to ensure optimal functioning.
• Communicate effectively within a diverse team environment.

Requirements

Education

• Technical certification related to shipbuilding or engineering
• Additional relevant qualifications are a plus

Experience

• Significant experience (5+ years) in ship fitting or similar roles
