Animal Technician

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with veterinary staff to deliver high-quality animal care.
• Participate in emergency care as required.
• Assist in the euthanasia of animals when necessary, with compassion.
• Help in the socialisation and enrichment of animals.

Requirements

Education

• Higher National Diploma in Animal Care
• Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science is preferred

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in a veterinary setting

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of animal behaviour
• Basic grooming skills

Soft Skills

• Empathy
• Time management

Certifications

• Veterinary Assistant Certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of animal husbandry techniques: Understanding of proper animal husbandry practices.
• Ability to assist in surgeries: Experience in assisting during surgical procedures is an advantage.
