Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Officer to manage and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within our Cardiff operations. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in fostering a safety-conscious culture and reducing workplace hazards across our projects.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a robust health and safety management system.
• Conduct safety audits and inspections to evaluate compliance with the safety policy.
• Develop training materials and facilitate health and safety training programs.
• Analyze accident trends and prepare safety improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with management to foster a culture of safety within the workplace.
• Assist in emergency preparedness planning and response training.
• Participate in relevant health and safety committees and meetings.

Requirements

Education

• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Relevant degree in Environmental Science is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a health and safety role within the Environmental Management sector

• NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate
