Machine Feeders and Offbearers

Job Description

As a Machine Feeder and Offbearer, you will play a vital role in the construction process, handling materials and ensuring efficient operation of machinery. Your expertise will support our projects, from estimating quantities to working closely with project teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site visits to verify measurements and assess progress.
• Communicate effectively with team members to resolve any issues that arise.
• Use construction estimating software to track material costs and labor.
• Document all take-offs and quantities in a systematic manner.
• Assist in preparing reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
• Handle the loading and unloading of materials as required.
• Ensure that safety protocols are followed during all operations.
• Negotiate with suppliers for better pricing and service.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry best practices.
• Support the Quantity Surveying team in other tasks as required.

Requirements

Education

• Higher education in a related field is preferred

Experience

• Proven experience in construction measurement and quantity take-offs.

Technical Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
• Knowledge of construction materials and their costs

Soft Skills

• Time management skills
• Problem-solving skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Prior experience with commercial construction projects: Experience in managing larger scale construction efforts.
• Knowledge of Building Information Modeling (BIM): Familiarity with BIM tools enhances project planning.
