Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Farm Equipment Technician to join our team in Weston-super-Mare. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of agricultural machinery. A strong understanding of farming equipment is essential, along with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on farm equipment to reduce downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in agricultural machinery.
• Assist in the installation of new farming technology and equipment.
• Carry out modifications and upgrades to existing machinery.
• Work with suppliers to procure necessary parts and tools.
• Guide junior technicians and share best practices.
• Participate in ongoing training programs to enhance skills.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and materials.

Requirements

Education

• City & Guilds Certification in Agricultural Machinery
• Higher qualifications in Engineering are preferred

Experience

• At least 5 years experience in farm machinery repair and maintenance

Technical Skills

• Field Service Experience
• Pneumatics

• Attention to Detail
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Relevant machinery operation certifications
• Forklift operator licence

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in welding: Welding skills for repairing and fabricating machinery parts.
• Experience with robotics in agriculture: Knowledge of using robotics for automated farming solutions.
