Maintenance Engineer

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Sunderland. The perfect candidate will possess a strong background in both mechanical and electrical maintenance with a focus on optimising equipment performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and safety of maintenance equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to control risks.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support operational efficiency.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to enhance maintenance practices.
• Report on maintenance performance metrics and provide recommendations.
• Manage relationships with external service providers and suppliers.
• Assist in budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations.
• Keep abreast of legally required maintenance standards and ensure compliance.

Requirements

Education

• City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• BTEC National Certificate in Engineering is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in a maintenance engineering role

Technical Skills

• Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• CMMS Software

Soft Skills

• Team Leadership
• Negotiation

Certifications

• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician
• Health and Safety at Work Act (HSWA) certificate

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles: Familiarity with lean methodologies to improve efficiency.
• Experience with robotics maintenance: Hands-on experience with maintaining robotic machinery.
