Mental Health Counsellor

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate Mental Health Counsellor to join our dedicated team in Edinburgh. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing therapeutic support to individuals facing various mental health challenges. You will work collaboratively with clients to develop tailored treatment plans and support their journey towards improved mental well-being.

Responsibilities

• Support clients in exploring thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that affect their mental health.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.
• Conduct intake assessments to establish client needs and goals.
• Provide support during crisis situations and referrals as needed.
• Document progress and adjust treatment plans to reflect client development.
• Participate in regular training and professional development activities.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Master's in Counselling or Clinical Psychology is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mental health counselling

Certifications

• Advanced Counselling Certificate
• BACP Registered Member

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in group therapy: Experience facilitating group therapy sessions.
• Training in trauma-informed care: Knowledge of and experience in trauma-informed care practices.
