Job Description

As a Deacon, you will have the vital role of assisting the priest during services while providing pastoral support to our church community. You will engage in various ministries aimed at spiritual development and outreach, ensuring a compassionate response to the needs of our congregation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of religious services, including rituals.
  • Provide compassionate care and counsel to parish members.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of community outreach.
  • Support the organisation of church events and activities.
  • Collaborate with church leaders in enhancing the worship experience.
  • Offer mentorship to those seeking faith-related support.
  • Assist with administrative duties and record-keeping.
  • Encourage inclusivity and acceptance across the congregation.
  • Organise and lead key ceremonies such as baptisms and memorials.
  • Act as a liaison between the church and local communities.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Theology or related field (advantageous)
  • Recognition as Deacon within the denomination (essential)
