We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tobacco Grader to join our team. As a Tobacco Grader, you will be responsible for assessing the quality and grade of tobacco leaves, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer requirements. Your keen eye for detail will play a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of our products.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, evaluate, and grade tobacco leaves based on established criteria.
• Maintain and update grading records documenting various quality assessments.
• Assist in training junior graders and ensure team efficiency.
• Ensure all grading equipment is maintained and operational.
• Work closely with team members to optimise grading processes.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or quality concerns to management.
• Participate in safety drills and adhere to workplace safety protocols.
• Engage in ongoing professional development regarding grading standards.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Any additional relevant certifications or training is advantageous

Experience

• Prior experience in tobacco grading or related field is desirable.

Advantageous

• Understanding of moisture content and curing processes: Knowledge of how moisture affects tobacco quality.
• Ability to identify pest damage and diseases: Recognising signs of pest infestation or disease in tobacco plants.
