Registered Nurse (OR Nurse)

Job Description

An OR Nurse, also known as an Operating Room Nurse, is responsible for providing comprehensive patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures. You will work closely with the surgical team, ensuring patient safety and maintaining a sterile environment.

Responsibilities

• Assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for surgical patients.
• Preparing the surgical area and ensuring equipment is ready for use.
• Monitoring patients' conditions pre- and post-operation.
• Administering medications and ensuring accurate patient documentation.
• Providing emotional support to patients and their families.
• Maintaining a sterile environment throughout surgical procedures.
• Participating in team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
• Assisting with patient admissions and discharges as needed.
• Staying updated with surgical best practices and protocols.
• Contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

Education

• Nursing degree from an accredited institution

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a surgical setting.

Technical Skills

• Surgical instrumentation knowledge
• Proficiency in EMR systems

Soft Skills

• Strong organizational skills
• Calm under pressure

Certifications

• Certified Operating Room Nurse (CNOR)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in minimally invasive procedures: Familiarity with laparoscopic techniques and instruments.
• Knowledge of anesthesia practices: Understanding of different anesthetic agents and their applications.
