Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Steel Checker to join our quality control team. The successful applicant will be responsible for verifying the accuracy and quality of steel components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Responsibilities

• Validate steel component specifications against project requirements.
• Report any non-conformances to the production team.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of applicable British and European standards.
• Participate in internal audits of quality processes.
• Identify trends in quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist in the development of quality control procedures and documentation.
• Train new staff on quality assurance protocols and inspection techniques.

Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Engineering or a related field
• Advanced qualifications or certifications are preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in steel quality assurance

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes
• Experience with quality management software

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving abilities
• Organisational skills

Certifications

• Certification in Quality Control Methods
• NEBOSH Certification in Occupational Safety and Health

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Certification in non-destructive testing methods: Specialised training in techniques such as ultrasonic testing.
• Experience in audit preparation: Track record of preparing for internal and external audits.
