Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated Animal Stunner who will ensure humane treatment of animals while adhering to health and safety guidelines. Successful candidates will have strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Stunning animals using approved techniques to minimise pain and distress.
Ensuring compliance with animal welfare regulations and standards.
Maintaining equipment and ensuring it is in proper working condition.
Performing pre-slaughter examinations to identify any potential issues.
Working collaboratively with the slaughtering team to ensure smooth operations.
Keeping accurate records related to stunning activities.
Adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Monitoring animal behaviour and adjusting stunning techniques if necessary.
Reporting incidents or issues promptly to authorities.
Participating in ongoing training and development programs.
Requirements
Education
A minimum of high school education or equivalent
Relevant certifications in animal welfare or slaughterhouse operations are advantageous, but not essential.
Experience
Prior experience in animal handling, preferably in a slaughterhouse or related industry, is desired.
