Aquaculture Technician

Job Description

As an Aquaculture Technician, you'll play a vital role in the management and operation of fish farming activities. Your responsibilities will include monitoring fish health, water quality, and feeding operations, ensuring optimal conditions for fish growth.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operation of aquaculture systems.
• Educate visitors and stakeholders about sustainable practices.
• Support the aquaculture manager in project planning and execution.
• Monitor the effectiveness of feeding practices and adjust as needed.
• Engage in problem-solving to address any operational challenges.
• Collaborate with external partners for resource sharing and training.

Requirements

Education

• Higher National Diploma in Aquaculture, Marine Science, or equivalent
• Postgraduate studies in related field is advantageous

Experience

• Experience in fish farming or aquatic ecosystem management

Technical Skills

• Aquatic system management
• Data collection and analysis

Certifications

• PADI Open Water Diver Certification
• Sustainable Aquaculture Practices Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent
