Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Ecologist to join our team in Basingstoke. The successful candidate will play a key role in conducting environmental assessments, researching ecosystems, and contributing to conservation initiatives. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop strategies that support sustainability and environmental health.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the impacts of development projects on local ecosystems.
  • Design and conduct experiments to test ecological theories.
  • Analyse ecological data using statistical software.
  • Participate in workshops to enhance ecological practices.
  • Draft environmental education materials for public consumption.
  • Support biodiversity initiatives at local and regional levels.
  • Assist in the management and upkeep of field research sites.
  • Document and archive ecological research for future reference.
  • Present findings at conferences and community meetings.
  • Advise on strategies for habitat restoration.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Environmental Science or related discipline
  • PhD degree preferred for research-heavy roles

  • 5+ years in ecological research or environmental consulting
