Job Description
As a Hand Weaver, you will play a crucial role in producing high-quality textiles using traditional techniques. You will design and create fabrics according to client specifications, ensuring a seamless blend of artistry and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities
Create bespoke handwoven textiles that reflect client needs and artistic vision.
Monitor the weaving process, ensuring the quality and consistency of output.
Research and experiment with new weaving techniques to enhance product offerings.
Train and mentor junior staff in hand weaving techniques and machinery operation.
Develop and implement best practices for textile production.
Prepare materials for dyeing and finishing processes.
Attend design meetings to provide input on fabric creation and production timelines.
Requirements
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Relevant vocational or apprenticeship training preferred
Experience
At least 2 years of experience in hand weaving or a related field
