Automotive Safety Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Automotive Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team in Redcar. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring vehicle safety standards are met and improved through comprehensive analysis, testing, and evaluation of automotive systems.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate vehicle safety systems and provide recommendations for enhancements.
• Develop and maintain testing methodologies and safety standards documentation.
• Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure integration of safety features in new models.
• Perform statistical analysis on safety data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with national and international automotive safety regulations.
• Lead safety audits and inspections of current vehicles.
• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall vehicle safety.
• Provide expert advice and support in regulatory submissions and certifications.
• Develop training materials for staff on safety engineering principles.
• Participate in industry conferences to represent the company’s commitment to safety.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Automotive Engineering or related field
• Master's degree in Automotive Safety Engineering is preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in vehicle safety testing and compliance
