Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Sheffield team. This role requires expertise in mechanical design, diagnostics, and project management. You will be responsible for developing cutting-edge engineering solutions and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications and requirements for new mechanical products.
• Perform calculations and simulations to predict performance outcomes.
• Work with suppliers and manufacturers to enhance product designs.
• Assist in the development of prototype models and oversee testing procedures.
• Document engineering changes and maintain accurate records.
• Continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Support project managers in the execution of engineering projects.
• Ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide hands-on engineering support during production.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Master's degree preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design or engineering

• SolidWorks

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer (CEng)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with FEM and CFD simulations: Proven ability to perform Finite Element Method and Computational Fluid Dynamics analyses.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles: Experience implementing lean practices for operational efficiency.
